Building a Barricade

On Saturday, Chris' parents came over so we could go out for the day and spend some time alone. We had a really great day. I got a much-needed pedicure, we did a little shopping, and had lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, Coastal Flats. They brought their great-grand-daughter Lexi with them so she could play with Mason. Lexi is almost 4 and usually they have a great time with each other.

Yesterday I told Mason that Ma and Pa were going to come over again today while I went to "work". Actually we had another preschool tour, but I figured he would grasp the idea of me going to work a little bit easier. He asked me if "Lecki" was coming and I said that she couldn't come because she was in school. A few minutes later he came into me and said, "No Lecki play my choo-choo." I told him that Lexi wasn't coming and that is was ok for him to share his toys with her. I was also pretty impressed that he said a 5 word sentence!

A few hours passed and I was upstairs making dinner while he was playing in the basement. He came up to me and said, "No Lecki play downstair!" I explained to him that he and Lexi have fun playing together and he should be nice to her when she comes to play with him. He came up a few more times and repeated the same thing.

Chris got home soon after and we walked downstairs to see Mason. When we got down the steps we saw that he had moved his table in front of the stairs, stacked his rocking chair on top, along with his bean bag chair and several books. Apparently this was how he was keeping Lexi from coming downstairs!

What's the Temperature?

Mason was rummaging through my diaper bag the other day when he pulled out the thermometer. He then proceeded to try and take his own temperature. I'll let you see from the picture where exactly he was taking it...
