Air & Space Museum - Washington D.C.

In what looks like it might be a new family tradition, Chris and I took Mason and Hudson downtown today to a museum. We chose the Air & Space Museum for our adventure this weekend. It was a frigid morning and parking was not an easy task. Independence Ave was closed for a dress rehearsal for the Inauguration. We finally found a spot and trekked to the museum. Mason really loved seeing all of the planes and "wockets" hanging from the ceiling -- although he was a little disappointed that he couldn't reach them.

They recently opened a new exhibit for children with a ton of hands on activities. His two favorites were: (1) the ball being blown in the air by the fan, and (2) the airplane he could sit in and fly. He was even nice enough to give Hudson a ride in the cockpit. Another favorite was the airplane that you could walk through. Although, he didn't really care about the engines or the passenger seats, he only wanted to see where they stowed the luggage. It turns out one of the pieces of luggage was a dog carrier with a little "beto" (aka dog) in it. Hudson loved looking up at all the planes. His kicked his feet a hundred miles an hour!

I thought this last image was pretty funny. As we were driving out of the city and were stopped at a traffic light about 10 trucks filled with port-a-potties drove by. They were adding them to the thousands already lining the mall.

We had another great day being together as a FAMILY!!!
